In an effort to make bus travel more accessible and appealing, NJ transit is adding 10 new curbside berths for buses at Frank R. Lautenberg Transportation Center, thus bringing the total to 14. The $7.7 million project is part of Secaucus Junction’s evolution from a train hub to an intermodal facility. The improvements project will replace the current South Road curbside operation for buses and vans with 14 sawtooth slots. In addition to the bus berths, the construction also includes new canopies, paving, sidewalks and associated improvements to further accommodate existing services in the most efficient manner and provide for potential future service levels.
