Towson University (TU) in Maryland is expanding with the addition of two new residential facilities. The new buildings are the final phase in the West Village Housing project, a plan to add 1300 new beds to the Towson campus. Combined, the new residences will contain 325,500 gross square feet of accommodations for upper level students to address the continued demand for on-campus housing. The nine- and 11-story residence halls will contain a mix of two-and four-bedrooms apartments. Each bedroom is single-occupancy, with shared bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room and each floor will have communal lounges as well as meeting rooms for studying. Like all new buildings on TU’s campus, the two new residence facilities are being built in adherence with sustainable design and are expected to achieve LEED Silver certification.
With both a stocking facility and our headquarter location just a few miles from Towson, Kenseal Construction Products was a sound, and convenient, choice to supply specialty construction materials for this project. Brian Heil, Kenseal Sales Representative, worked closely alongside a valued customer on this project to supply material for the air and vapor barrier of the buildings.
